I've finished the dog portrait and am going over some sketches of draft horses, which I
never tire of painting. Alot of thought and research go through my head before I start
a painting. I always have a picture in my mind of the finished result and the feeling
or story I want to convey. Alot of my reference is from photos I've taken and horses
I've seen.
I love the attitude here and went a little farther than just a sketch.
I'm anxious to get painting and all I know for sure is that I plan to paint a horse, what color, size, breed
is all whirling in my mind, never enough time..........................Cheryl

A work in progress !
Here is the painting I am working on. I am very pleased with the results. Looking at you is
difficult for creating depth, I always prefer three/quarter views. Just a few finishing touches
and I feel it will be ready to go. I must admit I am ready to move on, I have so many
ideas for my art whirling around in my head. Over the years I have taken tons of photos
of draft horses at work and love painting them. I would like to try putting some of the
images on jewelry and seeing if there is an interest on ebay. Would love to hear
comments or suggestions. I'm always excited when I have time to paint and for the
next couple of hours that's what I will be doing.

New to Blogging, hoping to meet other artists.........
Another beautiful summer day, without rain. A good day to get things done
outside and unfortunately my art is sitting untouched. I like to try and paint
everyday, if only for a short time. I have a messy art room with my work in
progress always ready to just sit down and get busy. Presently I am working
on a commission with two dogs in the painting. It's hard to get a good feel
for them because they are totally different breeds. One is a Bernese Mountain
Dog and the other a Bull Mastiff. It feels almost done, I have a habit of over
working. I'll take a photo of it and put it on my blog .
